Car Accident Victims Need All The Help They Can Get

A Crystal Lake resident taking a shower may never walk again due to a deadly crash. The incident took place July 27th, around 7:30 pm on Heather Drive. Neighbors reported a blue SUV crashed into the home’s garage, became airborne, and crashed through the home’s second floor.

The Crystal Lake police reported that the SUV was traveling east on Ballard Road and through an intersection with Briarwood Road. The SUV then drove off the roadway and into the home of Heather Drive. Currently, the reasons why the driver drove off the roadway are unknown.

A neighbor heard the crash and was unsure what it was at first. When the neighbor left the home, they could see that the car had crashed into the home’s second story. The driver was airlifted to Condell Hospital for life-threatening injuries as well as the victim was taking a shower when the incident occurred. Unfortunately, the victim may need multiple back surgeries, and there’s the chance he won’t be able to walk again.

The neighbor who saw the aftermath of the incident, Danielle Leschuk, said that many drivers speed a lot in this area but that she was glad no kids, bikes, or other pedestrians were around when the incident happened.

Unfortunately, car accidents like these happen more often than we want, and sometimes treatment options are limited. It’s important for victims to receive all the treatment options they can. For many car accident victims, chiropractic care remains an effective solution. Although some accidents don’t benefit from chiropractic care, other injuries do.

Victims of many different types of accidents and health conditions find relief from seeing a chiropractor. In the case of a car accident, receiving multiple sessions alongside regular care can greatly improve the chances of recovery and minimize pain.

Other types of injuries or accidents that benefit from chiropractic care include:

  • Whiplash and pain in the neck, back, or shoulders
  • Pain from physical activities like sports, construction, work, etc.
  • Injuries common with sports such as shin splints, tennis elbow, and hamstring strains
  • Rotator cuff injuries

Along with helping you to recover following an accident, chiropractic care can also help prevent future injuries. Symptoms that might indicate you need some chiropractic care include:

  • Neck, back, or shoulder pain
  • Frequent migraines or headaches
  • Herniated discs
  • Pain in your spine
  • Sciatica
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Ligament pain

Even if you don’t experience immediate pain following an accident such as a car crash or sports injury, you should still visit your primary care provider. While a small crash with another car might only seem to cause minor scrapes or bruises, there’s the chance of internal injuries. Likewise, some minor neck pain after a fall when playing a round of football can quickly escalate into greater pain in the future.

While chiropractic care is never a substitute for meeting with your primary care provider, it can help supplement your care. When you need a chiropractor in Palatine, IL, Lotus Wellness Center can help.
