SHATZI NIKOLAI

ICF Accredited Holistic Career and Life Coach

SHATZI NIKOLAI, MSSCM, MBA

“The most important relationship in our life, is the one we hold with ourselves.” – Diane Von F.

We are all going through unexpected changes in our life. Sometimes painful and challenging events can force us to stop for a moment and look around to see what direction our life is going. But during those challenges, we often become stuck and unable to see the vision of our future selves unfold.

If you wish to explore your personal strength and reconnect with your soul energy, to make significant improvements and changes, and achieve goals tuned into your life purpose…together, we can explore what held you back in the past, shift negative patterns, open blocks in your energy body and connect the pieces for your true purpose and highest potential to flourish.

When you start listening to your higher self and intuition and start naturally shift towards what your soul really wants, there you can find your true happiness of regaining full power over your life.

I have over 16 years of international corporate experience, where I climbed the corporate ladder for years to reach the upper management positions. After receiving my master’s degree in business and supply chain management, I had a chance to manage teams as well as departments for the two top market leading companies in healthcare and food industry. After leaving corporate world and overcoming soul transforming personal struggles in my own life, I found my true purpose by helping others to find their own way to walk the walk, to reach their own happiness.

The lessons from my own awakening and healing, have shaped into a soul purpose working with adults who are at the beginning of their soul journey, and ready to leave behind their low self-esteem, worries, fears, private or work related toxic relationships, who are struggling with their chosen career and ready to change and who would like to start their soul healing journey.

There is no one-size-fits all approach. Sessions are unique and customized according to your needs. They can be solution-focused and targeted your unique challenges, barriers, and problems and an option to include holistic tools such as: aromatherapy, herbalism, mindfulness meditation, breathwork, chakra energy balancing and healing, guided visualization, EFT and NLP techniques.

I am a clinical mental health counseling associate. My background in counseling and communication has prepared me to conduct individual, couples, family, and group counseling with children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience working with couples on resolving relationship stuck points such as communication trouble and trust issues in addition to working with adolescents and adults to combat anxious and depressive feelings and symptoms. My individual counseling style is grounded in psychodynamic theory, which focuses on unconscious drives and how the past influences the present. Additionally, I use a variety of interventions to meet each client’s individual goals including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) interventions, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) interventions, somatic experience interventions, and mindfulness interventions.

I view counseling as a process in which client and counselor form a partnership to help initiate and maintain healing, positive change, and growth. This partnership is built on mutual trust, openness, communication, and respect. So many of us are surrounded by the “shoulds” of life and strive to live up to that perfect image, stuck in old beliefs or unrealistic expectations. In particular, I utilize techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, emotion focused therapies, narrative and family systems theories, solution-focused and strength based therapy, and trauma informed care.

My areas of focus include anxiety and stress management, coping skills, depression and mood states, life transitions and interpersonal/relationship issues including attachment and communication, trauma and PTSD, and sports performance.

Trauma and other life experiences can be overwhelming to handle on your own. These experiences can feel lonely and isolating. It is important for me to remind my clients that they are not alone in their therapeutic journey. I strive to support clients who have experienced trauma, who have been in domestic violence relationships, who have experienced sexual abuse, who have experienced religious trauma, are veterans, are suffering from PTSD or any other client who simply needs to be heard. I have completed the 40hour domestic violence training, level 2 Reiki practitioner, and trainings in emotionally focused therapy and sex-positive counseling. Additionally, I work with members of the LGBTQIA+ population and am a kink-affirming therapist. My goal is to create a supportive space to work on topics that can be uncomfortable.

Everyone’s therapeutic journey is different. I want to empower my clients to recognize
their own resiliency. Everyone is an expert in their own story. I would appreciate the opportunity to get to know your story and to walk alongside and guide you on your therapeutic journey.

I support individuals in areas of depression, anxiety, mood disorders, difficult life transitions, religious / spiritual abuse, and individuals with a history of trauma.  I practice from a strengths-based, person-centered perspective, and foster a collaborative process of self-exploration and discovery.

Therapy with me provides a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to feel seen, heard and connected. This means accepting, supporting, and walking alongside clients as they explore their full identity.  I help clients process emotions, reframe limiting narratives, and I offer insight for thoughtful reflection and personal development.

I believe we are the experts of our own unfolding.  My role as a therapist is to help you integrate your complex humanity, tend to wounds, gently; to invite self-love, compassion, and vulnerability, and to introduce strategies that facilitate relief and healing.  In our work together, I aim to help you identify core values and implement meaningful changes that align with your true nature.
