What is counseling and/or therapy?

We offer a therapeutic environment grounded in inclusion, respect, and emotional safety. Our space is intentionally designed to feel calm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental—where individuals couples, and families can slow down, feel supported, and show up as their authentic selves.

Every client is met with empathy, validation, and curiosity. You know your story, your life, and your challenges better than anyone and we are honored to walk alongside you and help guide you on your path. We strive to create a supportive space where you feel seen, heard, and valued. Your thoughts, emotions, and experiences are respected and held with care.

Therapy is a collaborative process built on trust and connection. We move at your pace, prioritizing emotional safety while fostering authenticity, openness and honest reflection. 

Our goal is to provide a space that feels grounding and reassuring—a place where you can explore, be vulnerable, strengthen personal insight, and build meaningful relational connections. A place where healing, growth, and deeper understanding can naturally flow. 

We aim to help you connect more deeply with yourself and live with greater balance and wellbeing. It is designed to assist you in:

Do you offer in-person and/or online therapy?

Lotus Wellness Center provides both in-person and virtual/online sessions via a secure and confidential online platform for clients anywhere in Illinois (and some clinicians are licensed in Wisconsin, Indiana and Florida). 

Where are your therapy offices located?

We offer in-person sessions at Lotus Wellness Center, located at 1240 W. Northwest Hwy, Palatine, Illinois. Our office offers a calm, inclusive and person-centered setting.

How do I get matched with the right therapist?

Our Care Specialist thoughtfully connects you with a therapist who aligns with your goals, preferences, and needs. 

What can I expect in my first therapy session?

Your first session is a welcoming, supportive space designed to help you feel safe, understood, and grounded. It’s less about “fixing” anything and more about getting to know you as a whole person. 

You’ll be invited to share what brought you in, your goals, and what support you’re seeking.

Your therapist may ask about emotional wellbeing, physical health, stress levels, relationships, lifestyle, and current symptoms/concerns. 

There’s no pressure to share everything at once—this is the beginning of a relationship.

Together, you’ll explore your personal history, strengths, challenges, and any patterns that may impact your wellbeing.

The focus is compassionate and collaborative, not diagnostic or judgmental.

You’ll have time to ask questions about the therapy process, frequency of sessions, and what ongoing care might look like.

It is important to know:

  • You are in control of the pace and depth of the work.
  • Therapy is a partnership centered on safety, trust, and whole-person healing.
  • Showing up as you are is more than enough.

  • Our Care Specialist will guide you through the process of verifying insurance benefits (if using insurance), discuss appropriate fees if applicable, and connect you with one of our healing providers to get you scheduled as soon as possible
